About the demo
What runs in the demo, and who made it.
The live demo on the developer and player pages is a working copy of the SLYYCE card-to-play flow. The four games in it show what the loop feels like: a free game for the Doom engine, two open-source indie games whose licences allow it, and a prototype by the SLYYCE team. They are demo Slyyces, not partner titles, and their makers were not involved in putting them here.
Demo games
- Freedoom: Phase 1
The first map of Freedoom: Phase 1 (version 0.13.0) by the Freedoom project, under its BSD 3-clause licence. The data is trimmed to what that map needs; the trim script and report are in games/doom/tools, next to Freedoom’s licence and contributor lists. It runs on Chocolate Doom 3.1.1 compiled to WebAssembly by Cloudflare, GPL-2.0-or-later, with the corresponding source in source.zip (the same as cloudflare/doom at commit b24a4d8). Touch controls and packaging by the SLYYCE team, under the same GPL. Full credits and licences.
- PACKABUNCHAS
A tiling puzzle by Mattia Fortunati, made for js13kGames 2021. MIT licence, © 2021 Mattia Fortunati; sound by ZzFX and ZzFXM (MIT). Packaged for the demo by the SLYYCE team with small, marked changes for the sandboxed frame; the author was not involved. Source · Credits and changes.
- RogueYacht
An original prototype by the SLYYCE team (v0.3): its code, pixel art and synthesized sound were made for this demo, on the rules of the public-domain dice game Yacht. © 2026 SLYYCE; shown for demonstration, no reuse licence is granted. Credits.
- Stolen Sword
A one-finger action platformer by Ian Chiao, made for js13kGames 2020. MIT licence, © 2020 Ian Chiao; sound by ZzFX (MIT). Packaged for the demo by the SLYYCE team with small, marked changes for the sandboxed frame; the author was not involved. Source · Credits and changes.
How the demo works
Each game runs in a sandboxed browser frame with no outside network access, the same way a Slyyce runs on the platform, with the platform’s bridge script loaded alongside it. Likes, follows and comments in the demo stay in your browser; nothing is sent to SLYYCE. The sample conversation in the comments sheet uses fictional accounts and is labelled as such.
Screenshots
The product screenshots on the developer and player pages are captures of the current SLYYCE build with sample data: the demo games above, the SLYYCE team’s demo account, fictional commenters and example numbers.
